Dona Kay Rule and Valor have been fan favorites since their debut National Finals Rodeo in 2019. She made four consecutive NFRs, before missing out in 2023. She is back for a fifth in 2024.

Rule is the No. 10 ranked barrel racer in the WPRA World Standings with $121,481 in earnings.

Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo, $6,923

Rule and Valor got big win in May as their first of the season when they cashed in in their home state of Oklahoma. A 16.99-second run would win the duo the First Round before they finished third in Round 2. Rule came out on top in the Average by more than a tenth of a second.

Rule has won five times in Oklahoma since 2022.

Mt. Pleasant Rodeo, $2,275

The same week as Guymon, Rule and Valor did it again in their neighboring state of Texas by the slimmest of margins. By one hundredth of a second, Rule and Valor got the win over fellow NFR qualifiers Carlee Otero and Sly.

Central Wyoming Fair and PRCA Rodeo, $12,465

A trip to the Cowboy State was good to Rule and Valor when they claimed their biggest payday of the season in Casper. Runs of 17.08 and 17.13 won her the Average title by three hundredths of a second over Jymmy Kay Cox.

That same week was the Sheridan WYO Rodeo, where a 17.32 was good enough for second-place and Rule’s second trip to the pay window that weekend.

Snake River Stampede, $12,256

In Idaho, Rule won big in both rounds and it resulted in the Average title. All three checks were worth at least $2,400. Rule finished third in Round 1 and won the Finals to win the Average with a time of 31.43 seconds on two. Jordan Driver was the next closest barrel racer, more than two tenths of a second back.

Farm-City Pro Rodeo, $7,076

In the month of August, Rule and Valor would strike for second place in Hermiston against some tough competition. By just two hundredths of a second, Rule finished behind Andrea Busby to cash in her third highest payday of the season.

Before Hermiston, Rule and Valor made a stop in Idaho where they placed second at the Jerome County Fair and Rodeo, also by one hundredth of a second.
