Dirk Tavenner sustained an injury that took him out of the first half of the 2023 season. He made his return to the arena in May and now, at the end of June, he is tied for No. 2 in the Average at the Greeley Stampede with a time of 8.3 seconds on two head.
“Man, it feels good. I’ve been with a great group of guys, the horses are working good, we’re just kind of having fun. You know, we started at the bottom, there’s only one way up so we’re ready,” he said.
Although currently unranked in the PRCA World Standings, Tavenner is no stranger to hustling for a National Finals Rodeo qualification and there is plenty of big money to be won throughout the summer. Kicking it off with success at the Greeley Stampede is one way to start going up.
