Dean Thompson Talks Rookie Season and His Big Win in Pendleton

The weekend in Pendleton, OR held high stakes for young Dean Thompson, naws he clinched the bareback riding championship title with a total of 171.5 points on two head, earning him a substantial $13,048 in prize money.

“I’ve gotten to the point where I finally just think, ride 110 percent, and if you believe you can do that and really mean it…then everything else will work out,” Thompson said.

As the regular rodeo season draws to a close, Thompson is determined to improve his 12th place position in the PRCA World Standings and continue adding to his earnings in the upcoming weeks.
