Dawson Hay has continued the Hay Family legacy by bringing home another Calgary Stampede bronze. After a 92-point ride on the always impressive Xplosive Skies of Calgary Stampede, Hay claimed the win by two points.
“It’s amazing, you know, watching my dad win the $50,000, it was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen and then, you know, my uncle and then my brother last year. It hasn’t really sunk in yet to be honest, I just want to give all this glory to God,” Hay said.
With a support system that grew by one last year when his little girl was born, Hay has added to his already long list of accolades with this Calgary Stampede win and he now sits No. 5 in the PRCA Saddle Bronc Riding World Standings.
It is the second straight year a member of the Hay family won The Stampede as Dawson’s brother Logan did so. They became the first pair of brothers to win consecutive Calgary Stampedes since their father, Rod Hay, and his brother Denny did it in 1998 and 1999.
