Creek Young was the last bull rider out in Round 1 of Pool C in Calgary and he put together the highest marked ride that we have seen. With 88 points aboard Afriad to Nod, he cashed in on the Go-Round win.
“I knew I had a really good chance to start off my Calgary Stampede good like I did last year and I watched several people ride him last year, I think they rode that bull to win it, Shane Proctor. I just knew outstanding opportunity, couldn’t let it slip by me and I’m just blessed to get it done,” Young said.
With two rounds left to go, Young did what he needed to in Round 1 to pick up the momentum and set himself up. He has matched up with Jelly Roll for Round 2 as he looks forward to eight more seconds.
