Coy Rahlmann and Jonathon Torres Stay Steady in Salinas to Capture the Win

Coy Rahlmann and Jonathon Torres roped a solid 9.2 in the California Rodeo Salinas Short Round and although it was not the fastest time of the Go-Round, it was fast enough to put them No. 1 in the average on five head and cinch them the championship.

“It took quite a bit. I was pretty nervous. The first time I ever did good at this rodeo it helped me get to my first finals and I hope this time helps me get to my second,” said Rahlmann

Torres decided that with Salinas being his favorite rodeo and its unique setup, there was no better place to break out a young horse and it paid off.

Both Rahlmann and Torres sat outside the Top 20 in the World going into California Rodeo Salinas and once the money is counted, they should be a few spots closer to the Top 15.
