The Columbia River Circuit Finals in Redmond, Oregon saw a bareback rider continue his Circuit Finals domination, a record-setting steer wrestler make a mark on the new season and a runaway victory in the saddle bronc riding.
Starting in the bareback riding, where Austin Foss has almost been impossible to beat in Redmond lately. He won all three rounds this year to make it a third consecutive Columbia River Circuit Finals crown for the Terrebonne, Oregon native.
Dalton Massey will enter the 2023 NFR No. 1 in the steer wrestling after earning over $193,000 and he’s begun his quest to repeat that feat strong by winning 2-of-3 rounds and the Average. He made just over $7,500 toward the 2024 PRCA World Standings.
Joe Harper, who also won the Year-End Championship, was the best of the bunch in the bronc riding. He entered the Third and Final Round with the lead and won it by 6.5 points for good measure. He ultimately won the Average by 17 points.
Other Columbia Circuit Finals Champions were Jeff Flenniken/Jake Minor in team roping (24.2 seconds on three), Joel Harris in tie-down roping (26.8 seconds on three), Sharon Gow in barrel racing (44.35 seconds on three, Jordan Spears in bull riding (152 points on two) and Bailey Patterson in breakaway roping (9.2 seconds on three).
