Cole Franks is the reigning intercollegiate world champion and the 2021 Resistol Rookie of the Year and come December he will be walking into the Thomas and Mack for ten rounds with the best of the best.
Franks comes from a rodeo family, his father, Brett Franks, went to the Wrangler National Finals and his brother competes as well. They know the bright lights of Vegas well but this time Franks can only imagine.
“I’ve run scenarios through my head a bunch, just picturing it all. But I know it’s not going to be what I pictured,” Franks said.
Franks had an amazing year, one of his highlights coming in Dodge City, Kansas where he rode Frontier’s Gun Fire for 93 points. It might not have started off the way the rookie wanted but he turned it around to cinch his first trip to Vegas.
