Cody Snow and Junior Nogueira made their way to the winner’s circle for the first time in the 2020 Wrangler NFR.
The pair was third out Tuesday night and stopped the clock at 3.9 seconds, a pace that would not be matched by the next 12 teams.
SNOW/NOGUEIRA’S RUN
“We had a good steer and my game plan going into it was just to make the best run we can on him,” Snow said. “We were early out so it’s hard to tell how fast the round is going to be, so we just tried not to make any and it turned out to be fast enough.”
“We have good horse and we knew if we had a decent steer, we would have chance to place,” Nogueira added.
The Go-Round win bumped Snow up to third in the heading standings and Nogueira to fifth in heeling.
The No. 1 spot changed hands on the head side as well with Luke Brown overtaking Dustin Egusquiza thanks to the $11,000 check he and his partner Joseph Harrison earned Tuesday.
Harrison is about $3,000 behind Egusquiza’s partner, Travis Graves, in the heeling race.
The news wasn’t all bad for the Egusquiza/Graves pairing though, they placed sixth in the Go-Round and are now No. 1 in the average, overtaking Erich Rogers/Paden Bray.
Brown/Harrison are currently third in the average.
