Clovis Rodeo: Performance 2

Performance 2 of Clovis Rodeo is here. The pace has been set for Round 3 of the timed events while the bar is set for roughstock riders.

BAREBACK RIDING

Your No.5 bareback rider in the World, Jayco Roper, has matched up with the multi-time Horse of the Year OLS Tubs Stevie Knicks of Macza Pro Rodeo. This will be Roper’s first time on the standout mare. Six-time World Champion Kaycee Feild is also out in this performance with the matchup of Burch Rodeo’s Lunatic’s Touch.

STEER WRESTLING

The current World No. 1, Dalton Massey, is currently sitting at 12.0 on two head after two consistent runs of 7.0 seconds but he will need to speed it up to add to his season earnings. The Roy brothers from Canada need to do the same thing.

TEAM ROPING

Jonathon Torres and Coy Rahlmann have had big success in Clovis in Rounds 1 and 2. They stopped the clock at 6.2 and 8.2 to pick up two go-round checks as they look for a call back to the Short Go. Brenten Hall and Paden Bray had tough luck in Round 1 but bounced back in Round 2 with an 8.2 to place in the go-round.

SADDLE BRONC RIDING

It is a loaded night in the bronc riding with Jesse and Spencer Wright out among two Canadians known for putting big scores up. Jesse has drawn another standout horse, Lunatic From Hell, from Burch Rodeo. Reigning World Champion Zeke Thurston has a rematch with Corey & Lange Rodeo’s Monster, who he covered for 88 points at the 2022 National Finals Rodeo.

TIE-DOWN ROPING

Marty Yates had a tough first go but redeemed himself in Round 2 with a quick 8.6 second run that won him the round. He will be gunning for another 8.0-second run. Other big names with a chance to return or the Short Go if their Round 3 runs are fast enough are young guns Riley Webb and Tom Crouse.

BREAKAWAY ROPING

Bradi Good pulled a check in Round 1 and is sitting at 9.8 seconds on two head in the average. Montana Brown is sitting in a better position in the average at 8.3 on two. A 5.0 is currently leading the third round.

BULL RIDING

Ruger Piva has matched up with Corey & Lange’s Freaky Friday who’s buck off rate at California Rodeos is 100%. Jesse Hopper and Trey Holston are two more top bull riders out in the performance aiming to beat the pair of 88.5-point rides that currently lead the rodeo.
