Some of rodeo’s best rolled into Logandale, Nevada for an NFR Playoff stop at the Clark County Fair and Rodeo that paid out nearly $300,000.
The second-highest paying rodeo in the Silver State brought wins from World Champions in bareback riding and saddle bronc riding as well as a Top 5 steer wrestler moving closer to No. 1.
Tim O’Connell got his second NFR Playoff Series win of the season in the bareback riding with 87 points on Sankey Pro Rodeo & Phenom Genetics’ Shoutin Shoes. The win earned him nearly $7,000 and put him into the Top 15 in the World Standings.
O’Connell’s fellow World Champion Stetson Wright was the top dog in the saddle bronc riding with 89 aboard Mugilla of Sankey’s. The win pushed Wright to No. 1 in the PRCA Saddle Bronc Riding World Standings.
In steer wrestling, Jesse Brown moved up to No. 2 in the world by winning Round 1 an the Average. Brown also finished second in San Angelo over the weekend to be named The Cowboy Channel’s Timed Event Athlete of the Week.
