Two-time NFR cowgirl Sue Smith took time off from barrel racing as her last trip to the Thomas and Mack occurred in 2009, however, Smith has made her return with confidence as she is now looking at the possibility of a third qualification.

Over the past two weeks, Smith has brought in an astounding $46,855 in earnings as she reserved the No. 1 spot in Nampa, Ogden and Cheyenne to take the title of Circle Y WPRA Athlete of the Week.

Following a profitable victory in her native Idaho where the cowgirl earned just over $14,100 at the Snake River Stampede, Smith’s determination remained steadfast as she ventured into Utah to claim her win at the Ogden Pioneer Days.

Smith stopped the clock at 16.83 to secure the win at the Ogden Pioneer Days as she pulled a check for just under $10,500 before making her way to the great state of Wyoming to compete for the coveted Cheyenne Frontier Days Championship Title.

Once Smith advanced out of the Qualifier Round it was smooth sailing all the way to the Short-Go where she turned in the fastest run in Cheyenne Frontier Days history to take the win with a time of 16.89 seconds. Smith collected a total of $22,259 at the Daddy of ‘Em All and shows no signs of slowing down as the second half of the Summer Run remains.
