Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi claimed her third Circle Y WPRA Athlete of the Week award since June 27 as she added two additional wins to her resume over the weekend - the Dodge City Roundup (Kansas) and the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo (Colorado).
She was in the money in both Rounds 1 and 2 at the Dodge City Roundup to secure her spot in the Short-Go where she turned in a winning run of 16.81 seconds. An aggregate time of 51.32 seconds on three head landed Tonozzi at the top of the leaderboard to claim the Average win and a check for just under $10,400. She was more than a second clear of the rest of the field.
Her success continued in Castle Rock, Colorado as Tonozzi and her equine partner Benny stopped the clock in 17.12 seconds in the First Round of slack at the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo. Their quick time held throughout multiple rounds as they locked in their position at No. 1 and made their way to the pay window where they picked up a check for just over $5,000.
Tonozzi has now won () PRCA Playoff Series Rodeos this season.
In addition to her two most recent victories, Tonozzi also added to her earnings at Kansas’ Biggest Rodeo and the Steamboat Spring Pro Rodeo Series.
Since June 15, Tonozzi has won more than $140,000 and has now won a total of $188,920. She is No. 1 in the WPRA Barrel Racing World Standings.
