With 15 straight NFR qualifications, Lisa Lockhart is no stranger to success and right now, she’s in the midst of her most successful stretch of the 2023 season.
After cashing in over Cowboy Christmas and an extremely impressive performance in Pool A of the Calgary Stampede, Lockhart is your Circle Y WPRA Athlete of the Week.
On July 1, Lockhart won the Home of the Champions Rodeo in Red Lodgem Montana and victory was worth $4,316. She added more with a fifth place finish at the Black Hills Roundup on July 2 before she was off to Canada.
In Calgary, Lockhart climbed aboard Levee, her young grey who has proved he can handle almost anything. He did just that when they ran into the iconic Calgary arena to lay down the fast time of not only Round 1, but also Round 2. The first time the horse had seen the grounds at The Stampede was on the morning of Round 1.
Levee got faster with every performance by rounding out Pool A with a 17.40-second run in Round 3.
With $18,500 won, Lockhart is the No. 1 lady from Pool A coming back to Championship Sunday and she is your Circle Y WPRA Athlete of the Week.
