The recent Breeders Invitational showcased remarkable talent and skill, and among the standout competitors was Christina Huntley. Huntley’s performance was nothing short of spectacular as she clinched her class with an impressive lead of over five points.
Huntley shared her experiences, noting the significance of being able to qualify both of her horses for the finals. Despite facing some challenges with her horse Shirley in the first set of the finals, Huntley’s determination and confidence carried her through to a successful finish.
Achieving this level of success requires countless hours of dedicated training and a supportive team working behind the scenes. Huntley acknowledged the hard work that goes into preparing for such competitions and the importance of having a strong support system.
A key aspect of her success is the exceptional bloodline of her horse, Boomer Cat, sired by Metallic Boom Boom. Huntley has a close relationship with Metallic Boom Boom’s owner and values the connections she has formed within the equestrian community.
Growing up in the industry, Huntley has benefited from the guidance of her champion father, EJ, and other notable mentors such as Michael Cooper, Kathy, Dawn, and Karen. Her early start in horse showing, beginning at age 10, laid a strong foundation for her fearless approach to competition.
In addition to her equestrian pursuits, Huntley has been recognized for her achievements, including being inducted into the Youth Hall of Fame. Looking ahead, she aims to participate in larger events while managing her full-time corporate job.
A recent graduate from Texas A&M, Huntley works in real estate where she enjoys a flexible schedule that allows her to balance her career and passion for horse showing.
