The Central Wyoming Fair and PRCA Rodeo was held July 12-16 and had one long round and a finals. The Champions were crowned based on a two head average.
Cole Reiner swept the bareback riding after making an 87.5 point ride followed by an 86.5 making him 174 on two and adding almost $8,000 to his season earnings. Waylon Bourgeois and Seth Hardwick tied for second with Kyle Bloomquist finishing fourth.
SHANE FREY CASPER, WYOMING
In steer wrestling, the championship went to both Shane Frey and Stetson Jorgensen. The two cowboys tied in both the long round and then finals making them 4.6 on two head. They also each brought in $5,000 just for winning the average.
RILEY MINOR AND BRADY MINOR
The champions of the team roping are National Finals Rodeo team ropers Riley and Brady Minor. With a 4.3 getting them the win in the Long Round and a 5.0 tying them for the win in the Final Round makes them the average champions as well. Jeff Flenniken and Jake Minor were a close second through out the rodeo.
Isaac Diaz took the Long Round of the saddle bronc with an 84.5-point ride but it was Will Pollock who took home the championship. He was a 84 to be second in the Long Round and 82.5 in the Final Round making him 166.5 on two head.
LANE LIVINGSTON
Lane Livingston was a standout during the tie-down roping. An 8.8 got him the Long Go win while a 9.6 in the Finals made him 18.4 on two to be the champion. The newly crowned Calgary Stampede Champion, Caleb Smidt, wasn’t far behind to finish second.
The barrel racing champion was Summer Kosel who was the definition of consistent in Colorado Springs. She stopped the clock at 17.03 in the Long Round to then come back in the Finals and be only one hundredth of a second slower. Margo Crowther was the lady who finished second after she bested her long round time in the finals.
The champion in the bull riding was based on one head since there were no qualified rides in the Final Round. Hayes Weight and Dawson Gleaves were both 89.5 points to be your co-champions while Canyon Bass’ 88-point ride was third.
