Canadian Tie Down Ropers Kyle Lucas and Beau Cooper Talk Strategy and CFR Set Up

Kyle Lucas and Beau Cooper were two of three tie-down ropers that were within reach of a Canadian Finals Title in 2022. This year, Lucas is ranked No. 8 while Cooper sits fourth in the Standings going into the Finals.

For Cooper, it is six rounds where his game plan is to go after every single one of them.

“You know, you kind of got to go at the rounds and the average will take care of itself but the bigger money is at the Top 3, where as the Bottom 3 holes in each round don’t really pay as much so hard to make up ground there,” Cooper said.

Lucas says the same, the Top 3 is loaded but that is part of what makes the Canadian season neat.

“The rounds pay pretty dang good and not too much off of what the Average pays compared to like the NFR where the Average is so crucial and you have to be in the Top 3 in the Average to win the World. So the Canadian Standings is cool that way to where we don’t win as much money during the season and we’re able to go to the Finals and have just an average year and jump back into the top spot where we want to be,” Lucas said.

Cooper is going into his second CFR and Lucas prepare for his eighth while both cowboys are carrying on their family legacy with a game plan to win.

You can watch all of the CFR action beginning Nov. 1 on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+.
