Since 2021, Canada’s Scott Guenthner has been partially retired, opting to rodeo almost exclusively in Canada to stay close to home, yet success still found the now No. 15 ranked steer wrestler in the World and he is returning to Las Vegas.

Williams Lake Stampede, $5,685

Cowboy Christmas was the perfect time to hit a roll and Guenthner did just that. In his homeland of Canada, His 3.3-second run was half a second faster than the rest of the competition in British Columbia.

NFR Open, $14,125

A huge win that shifted Guenthner’s season came in Colorado Springs when he flew through round after round at the NFR Open. A 5.0 was his first time but he threw down a 3.8 in Round 2 to move on. In the Finals, Guenthner clocked his fastest time of the rodeo with a 3.5 to win it all.

Pile O Bones Rodeo, $3,045

Back up in the great white north, Guenthner picked up another win, this time in Saskatchewan. Not only was he the only sub-4-second run of the entire rodeo, but he cinched the win by almost a full second.

Northwest Montana Fair and Rodeo, $2,648

Guenthner’s next win came in at 4.7 seconds. The Kalispell rodeo win would be his by three tenths of a second over the likes of Rowdy Parrott and Ty Erickson.

Sheriff’s PRCA Rodeo, $2,557

At the final rodeo of Guenthner’s season he ended it on a high note with yet another win. In San Bernardino, California, he would stop the clock at 3.7 seconds to cash in just enough to keep inside the Top 15.
