Caleb Smidt and Riley Pruitt Split Saturday’s Round in Calgary

A pair of 7.3-second runs from NFR qualifiers Riley Pruitt and Caleb Smidt got the job done in Saturday’s tie-down roping at The Calgary Stampede.

Pruitt said his run was a bit out of control, but “if it works, it works.”

“Just had a good calf today, tried to do my job, get a good start and get her turned around,” Smidt, who had a No Time in Round 1, said. “It just kind of fell in place after that.”

Marcos Costa and Michael Otero are No. 1 and 2 in Pool A with Pruitt and Smidt splitting third behind them. The Top 4 advance to next Sunday’s Semifinals.

You can watch the final performance of Pool A from The Calgary Stampede at 3 PM ET on The Cowboy Channel.
