Bull Rider Tristen Hutchings’ Impressive 2022 Season Earns Him His First NFR Qualification

Tristen Hutchings has had the best year of his career this year and it cinched him his first National Finals Rodeo qualification. He will enter the Thomas and Mack the No. 5 ranked bull rider as he gets set to take on 10 of the rankest bulls in professional rodeo.

BIGGEST PAYDAYS

New Years Eve Buck & Ball, $8,494

In Gillette, Wyoming, Hutchings literally kicked his year off with a bang. A fourth-place finish in Round 1 and a win in the Final Round made Hutchings the No. 1 man in the Average and the champion.

Gem State Stampede, $6,717

Hutchings’ success in Idaho started with Xtreme Bulls and an 89-point ride on Corey & Lange Rodeo’s Stand By Me. From there, an 86.5-point ride got him the win at the Stampede and Hutchings left his home state the champion.

HIGHEST MARKED RIDES

Nephi Xtreme Bulls, 92 points

In the Final Round of the Nephi Xtreme Bulls and on the last day of the 2022 regular season, Hutchings would make his highest marked ride of his year. Aboard Rosser Rodeo’s Loguns Legacy, he would to 92 points to win it all.

Sheriff’s PRCA Rodeo, 91 points

In California, Hutchings would make a ride on Bridwell Pro Rodeo’s Bailey’s Rozet Swag that would be worth over $5,000. It would mark 91 points and get him yet another win in 2022.

NOTABLE WINS

Ellensburg Rodeo, 165.5 points on two

Hutchings trip to Ellensburg would start out with a 79.5-point ride that would tie him for fifth. But an 86-point ride in the Finals would not only get him the round win but move him to No. 1 in the average.
