Bull Rider Kaique Pacheco Wins $2.1 Million at The American Rodeo

Brazilian bull rider Kaique Pacheco won a life-changing prize Sunday at The American Rodeo.

With 89 points on County Jail in the Shootout, he was the only qualifier to win his event and doing so meant he left with the entire $2 million qualifier bonus. Along with the $100,000 that goes to every winner at The American, Pacheco won a total of $2.1 million inside AT&T Stadium. It is the biggest prize in rodeo history.

“I can’t describe that moment, that’s really important for me,” he said after his ride. “I always had the dream to win this event and now I’ve finally made that happen.”

Pacheco edged out reigning PRCA World Champion Sage Kimzey, who was 88.5 points on Gladiator’s Hammer. Kimzey won $25,000 for his second-place finish.
