Bubble Watch: Tie-down roper Taylor Santos moves into NFR contention after finishing second in Salinas
Taylor Santos had a big weekend at the long arena at California Rodeo Salinas.
He finished second in the Tie-Down Roping Shootout Round and earned more than $13,000 at the ProRodeo Tour Finale.
Santos ($87,940) went from No. 17 to No. 16 in the PRCA World Standings, but made a big dent in his deficit of 15th. He entered the rodeo more than $11,000 behind Hunter Herrin, who went from No. 15 to No. 13 over the weekend and has earned $89,779 this year.
Now, Santos is less than $300 behind Andrew Burks ($88,216), who is occupying the final Wrangler NFR spot with three days left in the season. John Douch ($88,874) is in 14th.
