Breakaway Roper Hali Williams Looks Back at An Incredible Season and Forward to Her First NFBR

National Finals first timer Hali Williams is heading to Las Vegas this December as she clinched the No. 2 position in the WPRA Breakaway Roping World Standings after an intense battle for the top spot with No. 1 cowgirl Shelby Boisjoli.

“This year knowing I get to compete is something to look forward to and it kind of makes you a little more excited to head to Vegas,” Williams said.

Williams has watched the National Finals Breakaway Roping take place, however, has yet to compete for a World Title herself and says her previous experience at the Finals motivated and pushed her to accomplish her goals this past season.

Rodeo Houston set Williams apart early on as she secured the championship check of $50,000 which locked her in at No. 1 for a majority of the remaining season.

“I think that’s going to be one run that I’m going to forever think about, it ultimately changed by career, it was something that I’ll forever be grateful for and something that will always be a sweet memory.”

Williams attributes a great deal of her success to her good horse, Redlight, and is learning to adjust to different horses including, Hummer, who she most recently purchased during the summer run. Both Redlight and Hummer will make an appearance alongside Williams this December in Las Vegas.
