Brady Portenier Claims No. 2 Spot at Rodeo Austin

Bull Rider Brady Portenier secured an 86.5-point ride in Performance 5 of Rodeo Austin to secure position on the leaderboard

A match up consisting of National finals Rodeo cowboy Brady Portenier and Powder River Rodeo’s Mr. Vaquero lead to a Go-Round winning ride of 86.5 points to secure the No. 2 spot on the leaderboard at Rodeo Austin.

“Just a little bit of try, a little bit of grit. That little bull he jumped out there, turned back to the right and I like them that way so it was good for me,” Portenier said on what it took to secure a qualified ride.

As the only athlete to cover his bull in Performance 5 of Rodeo Austin, Portenier is sitting comfortably in second place in Round 1 behind JR Stratford. Joining him on the leaderboard is Jackson Ward, Shane Proctor, Boudreaux Campbell and Ernie Courson Jr.
