Barrel Racer Sissy Winn Smokes the 2022 Season to Cinch Her First NFR

After finishing the 2021 season ranked No. 20 in the World, Sissy Winn took barrel racing by storm this 2022 season. It started with an unbelievable Texas Circuit Finals until the winter run kept Winn at the top of the leaderboard almost everywhere she went.

She cinched her first trip to the Thomas and Mack No. 7 in the World.

Here is a look at some of Winn’s season highlights.

BIGGEST PAYDAYS

San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, $29,000

Bracket 2 of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo would prove to be good to Winn. A second-place finish in Round 1 before winning Rounds 2 and 3 to qualify for the Semifinals. A second-place finish in the Semis would move her onto the Final Round. All in all, Winn would leave San Antonio with almost $30,000.

Calgary Stampede, $21,000

After a making some changes after Round 1, Winn had almost identical runs during Rounds 2 and 3 of the Calgary Stampede that helped her pick up her momentum at the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth and place her second in both rounds. She went on to qualify for the Semifinals.

FASTEST TIMES

California Rodeo Salinas, 16.09 seconds

In the third round of Salinas, Winn ran her fastest time of the rodeo with a 16.09 to finish second in the round. She would end up fourth in the Average at this rodeo, helping her stay inside the Top 10 in the WPRA World Standings with a tough bunch of ladies.

NOTABLE WINS

Livingston Roundup

At the Montana rodeo, Winn would come out on top in a tight race to collect another $6,600. Running against the best in the world all season long, Winn proved to be a top competitor who is hungry for a chance at a Gold Buckle.
