Katie Pascoe’s 17.17 second run on Thursday night in Santa Maria not only won the first performance, but held up for four more to get the California native her first win of 2022.
“It felt fast,” she said. “Usually when I feel (my horse) turn on the jets to the first barrel, I know he’s probably going to be pretty fast.”
Coming into Santa Maria, which is about 45 minutes from her home, Pascoe’s best finish of the year was second, which she did three times.
