RC Landingham

Steve Wrubel

RC Landingham is now a four time National Finals Rodeo qualifier and this year, he comes in sitting No.6 with a big chance of winning the coveted Gold Buckle.

The California bareback rider’s season has looked comparable to his 2016 season when Landingham ended the year No. 6 in the PRCA World Standings after an outstanding trip to Las Vegas. This year could be Landingham’s year to win it all if he can keep the momentum going in December.

Take a look at some of the biggest success’ of his 2022 regular season.

BIGGEST PAYDAY

Rodeo Houston, $17,000

In Super Series IV of Rodeo Houston, Landingham was on fire. He got it started with an 87-point ride on Calgary Stampede’s Arbitrator Joe before going 86 in Round 2, 85.5 in Round 3 to cinch his spot in the Super Shootout.

Calgary Stampede, $22,000

In Canada, Landingham was out in Pool A where one first place and two third place finishes in the round earned him a spot in the Semifinals. Even without moving on to the Showdown and Final Rounds, Landingham capitalized on his trip to the great white north.

HIGHEST MARKED RIDES

Rodeo Houston, 89 points

At Rodeo Houston, Landingham matched up with Calgary Stampede’s Yippee Kibitz to go 89 points. This was his highest marked ride of the year and it is safe to say he carried the momentum further into the season.

Bozeman Stampede, 88.5 points

An 88.5-point ride on Pick Up Sticks at the Bozeman Stampede is the second highest marked ride for Landingham’s regular season as his highest marked ride. It got him a tie for a third place finish in the August rodeo.

NOTABLE WINS

The second round of Reno Rodeo, Landingham made an 86.5-point ride in Flying 5 Rodeo’s Black Mary that would not only get him the round win but would add over $5,000 to his earnings. This win made him the man to beat going into the Final Round of Reno Rodeo.

California Rodeo Salinas is Landingham’s favorite rodeo and this year, he walked away the champion. With a win in the first round on Four Star Rodeo’s Fringe From Hell, Landingham set himself up just right going into the Final Round. An 86-point ride on the NFR bucking horse, Girl Crush of Bridwell Pro Rodeo got Landingham the average win.
