Orin Larsen has now qualified for the National Finals Rodeo eight times in a row. He enters this year the No. 12 ranked cowboy in the World.

Larsen has come close to a World Title twice, once in 2019 when he finished second and once in 2016 when he finished third. Although he comes in almost $50,000 behind the No. 1, anything is possible in Las Vegas and Larsen is hungry for a Gold Buckle.

Look back at his regular season.

BIGGEST PAYDAYS

Rodeo Houston, $11,750

Winning the Third Round of Super Series V in Houston, along with tying for third in Round 2 would earn Larsen a place in the Semifinals. On Calgary Stampede’s Arbitrator Joe, Larsen would be 85 points and move on to the Final Round.

Calgary Stampede, $22,500

After not having the performance one would like in the first three rounds of Pool A in Calgary, Larsen bounced back in the Wild Card Round with an 87-point ride on Calgary’s Disco Party. From there, he got a second place finish in the Semifinals before ending up second in the Showdown Round.

HIGHEST MARKED RIDES

La Fiesta De Los Vaqueros 90.5 points

In the Final Round of La Fiesta De Los Vaqueros, Larsen would make his highest marked ride of the year on Beutler & Son Rodeo’s South Suds.

Douglas County Fair and Rodeo 89 points

It would be Summit Pro Rodeo’s Cowtown that Larsen would draw in Colorado to be 89 points on. He would get the win and cash in over $3,000 while also making one of his high point rides of the year.

NOTABLE WINS

Chase Hawks Rough Stock Rodeo, 87.5 Points

In Billings, Montana, Larsen temed up with Calgary Stampede’s Agent Lynx to go 87.5 points. This win added over $6,500 to Larsen’s season earnings and really got his 2022 season rolling right after the 2021 NFR.
