Hometown cowboy Leighton Berry has now won the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Frontier Days and PRCA Rodeo three times. This time, it was with a 91-point ride on National Finals bucking horse San Angelo Sam of Pete Carr Pro Rodeo.
“Man, it’s pretty special… I’m just happy to be out here riding bucking horses, got my whole family here, my dad and my brother on the bucking chutes, everybody cheering me on… This is what rodeo is all about. I’m just excited to be here,” he said.
The battle at the top was between three of the best young bareback riders in the world as 2021 Resistol Rookie of the Year Cole Franks was second with 89 points and 2022 Resistol Rookie of the Year Rocker Steiner was third with 88.5.
With big goals set for himself this 2023 season, Berry is furthering his lead in the PRCA World Standings and setting himself up to achieve it all.
