The World Championship Junior Rodeo Finals returns to Guthrie, Oklahoma this July, and reigning Barrel Racing Champion Arina Dee Haugen recently joined Western Sports Roundup to talk about her preparations.
Haugen is the definition an all-around cowgirl, competing in four different events: barrel racing, breakaway roping, goat tying, and pole bending. She credits much of her success to her standout horse, Chili, who she says knows her job, does it well, and thrives in competition.
Haugen is among the many talented youth athletes set to compete in Guthrie from July 22–26, all chasing championship titles and a shot at the life-changing prize money offered at the WCJR Finals.
