A Businessman’s Run for Derrick Begay and Colter Todd Earns Them the Greeley Stampede Championship

Derrick Begay and Colter Todd made a businessman’s run in the Short Round of the Greeley Stampede. With a time of 6.4 seconds, they ended up No. 1 in the Average to walk away champions.

“We kind of get to watch the other guys go before us and the Short Round was kind of soft and when it kind of gets to that point, you’ve got to just make sure you get out of the barrier and rope the heifer and do the best job you can do for your partner to catch,” Begay said.

Aboard borrowed horses, Begay and Todd had a time of 16.9 on three head and earned over $7,500 a piece with this win. Begay sits No. 8 in the PRCA World Standings while Todd is No. 13 and moving up.
