Garrett Yerigan has played a pivotal role at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo over the last couple of years. As the Show Caller, Yerigan laid out and put together the time lines for each performance.
“At a place like Fort Worth where there’s so many different productions from ranch rodeo to Xtreme Bulls to Cowboys of Color to Best of Mexico, Texas Champions Challenge and then of course the wash, rinse, repeat PRCA rodeo for 18 performances, there’s a lot of pieces to put together. But it was a very fulfilling yet challenging role, I loved every minute of it,” Yerigan said.
The last two years in this position have given him an inside look on what makes FWSSR tick and before that he was on the livestock crew. Yergian knows the rodeo in Fort Worth all the way around.
This year, he steps into a new role and is joining the crew of in house announcers.
“It’ll be a lot of fun to now bring my energy on the microphone not just my touch behind the scenes so very much looking forward to it,” he said.
Yerigan’s voice will be heard alongside the one and only Bob Tallman’s as well as Anthony Lucia while Doug Mathis joins the television broadcast.
The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo kicks off with the Best of the West Ranch Rodeo on Jan. 12 and the PRCA Rodeo will begin on Jan. 19 following the Xtreme Bulls and Texas Champions Challenge. You can catch it all on The Cowboy Channel and the PRCA on the Cowboy Channel Plus App.
