At 23, Haven Meged already has a career’s worth of accomplishments. In 2019, he was the Resistol Rookie of the Year in tie-down roping and capped that season with a World Championship and NFR Average crown.

The next year, he won two NFR Go-Rounds and finished No. 7 in the PRCA World Standings. In 2021, he will enter the NFR No. 11 in the world, hoping to track down No. 1 Shane Hanchey, whom he trails by a little more than $75,000.

Meged’s 2021 season was highlighted by six rodeo wins, including at Montana Circuit Finals, Old Fort Days (Arkansas), St. Paul (Oregon) and the prestigious San Angelo Roping Fiesta.

Meged was a model of consistency at the Roping Fiesta. He placed fourth in two of the four rounds, but still managed to edge out fellow World Champion Caleb Smidt in the Average with a time of 41.2 seconds to Smidt’s 41.4. Five of the top six cowboys at the event made the 2021 NFR and the only who didn’t, Timber Moore, has made it seven times in the past.

At Circuit Finals, Meged won a total of $6,674, much of that day money thanks to winning all three rounds in Kalispell.

At Old Fort Days, Meged stopped the clock at 8 seconds flat in the one-header to bank close to $4,000.

Finally, Meged was victorious at St. Paul as part of a Fourth of July weekend in which he win over $16,000. In St. Paul, he had times of 7.6 and 8.3 seconds to win the Average.
