19-year-old Kyan Wilhite is Rising Fast in the World of ProRodeo.

Still a high school student, Kyan Wilhite leads the PRCA Permit Standings and is picking up wins across Texas.

Kyan Wilhite may still be in high school, but he is already making noise in the ProRodeo world. The now, Texas, tie-down roper currently sits No. 1 in the PRCA Permit standings and is kicking off a strong summer run.

This week, Wilhite returned to familiar territory at the Texas State High School Finals and walked away with another state title. Having already conquered the National High School Finals in the past, he’s now aiming to do it all over again this year.

It was a huge confidence booster and really helped prepare me for my ProRodeo career,” Wilhite said.

That preparation is already paying off. He picked up wins in Mesquite, Texas, with a 7.6-second run, and in Gladewater with a 7.9-second run.

“I’m living the dream, honestly. I’m loving every second of it,” he added.

Wilhite plans to stay on his permit through the end of the year to get solid with a new horse before stepping into his rookie season, where he hopes to qualify for the National Finals Rodeo.
