The Cowboy Channel is the official network of ProRodeo and the first 24-hour television network completely dedicated to western sports and the western lifestyle. Headquartered in the Fort Worth Stockyards, The Cowboy Channel features content focused on ProRodeo, bull riding, roping, reining, barrel racing, and other western sports genres, along with western fashion and music. The lineup also features a wide variety of “live” coverage from major western events showcasing the world’s toughest and most talented cowboys and cowgirls.

Although this can be very exciting to have “live” coverage of your event there is a process to go through before that happens. On this page, you will be able to find production guidelines each rodeo and committee must meet to be considered on The Cowboy Channel. If you are lacking a production department completely at your rodeo, The Cowboy Channel has a full traveling production trailer available to you upon further discussions. Otherwise, for approval of broadcast or app streaming there are several important steps these committees must complete. This includes a dedicated direct link to internet speed, encoders, using a graphics package, as well as a minimum of three cameras. Production is one of the most crucial elements when broadcasting rodeos and western events and we want to ensure you have all the necessary tools to accomplish that. These steps include:

  1. Submit the rodeo submission form HERE.
  2. Attend initial phone call set-up by The Cowboy Channel
  3. Send marketing assets and receive The Cowboy Channel/PRCA assets

This can seem like an overwhelming process, but we want you to know that The Cowboy Channel will be working hand in hand together with you each step of the way.
