Paden Bray talks with Steve Kenyon on WSR
Paden Bray is the No. 3 ranked heeler in the world, and he was the 2019 Resistol Team Roping Heeler Rookie of the Year.
Looking back at winning the Resistol Rookie, Bray says it was an honor for not only him and his family but for his partner, Erich Rogers, as well. Roger’s did not have the opportunity himself so it was a goal to see Bray achieve such a feat.
“That award is very prestigious, they only give it out once a year and only one guy can win it,” Bray said.
The Resistol Rookies are honored during the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo for joining an elite list of athletes.
Bray will also be attending another once in a lifetime event this weekend. He will be roping at Charly Crawford’s American Military Celebration along with the 29 other team ropers that comprise the top 15 in the world. The event is held at the NRS Arena in Decatur, Texas October 29-30 and proceeds will be benefitting Building Homes for Heroes.
