It was a matchup Zeke Thurston had been waiting for and he took advantage. The two-time World Champion went 88 points on Bridwell Pro Rodeos’ Beaver Bend to take the opening round in Hermiston.
“That’s been a really good horse for quite a few years. I had her drawn once but she was sore so I couldn’t get on her. I was darn sure excited for tonight.”
Thurston has entered the Top 10 in the world thanks to a great stretch of riding over the summer.
“It’s the best time to get on a roll. You got a rodeo every day, I was looking at it the other day, for the next month we have two days off. You get the ball rolling and you get confident and doing good, there is nothing better.”
