Rookie bull rider Lukasey Morris’ quest for his first NFR has been put on hold after he broke his leg at the Livingston Roundup Rodeo in Montana over the Fourth of July run.

“Ended up breaking my leg last night in Livingston,” Morris wrote on Instagram Tuesday. “Gonna go see Tandy and get fixed up so I can get back at em as soon as possible, thanks to my sponsors for sticking with me through it all!”

His dad told The Cowboy Channel’s Steve Kenyon that Morris is expected to miss 8-12 weeks and is hoping to be back by September.

As of July 6, Morris has made $78,232 and is No. 7 in the PRCA World Standings and No. 1 in the Resistol Rookie Standings.
