Only 12 bulls were covered in total at the Greeley Stampede and the only cowboy to go eight seconds in the Short Go was South Dakota’s Chance Schott on Beutler and Son Rodeo’s Overpass. It was an outstanding 88-point ride to earn Schott the Championship.
“You know, my old man, he’s been drilling into my head just hustle, hustle, hustle, for 10 seconds and as soon as he jumped out of it, it just kind of instantly went on repeat in my mind…” Schott said.
It was a special win being the 100th Annual Greeley Stampede.
“It’s still kind of unbelievable. I keep looking down, it’s the 100th annual and that’s a huge thing and it’s kind of unbelievable and I’m kind of lost for words right now for it,” he said.
Schott’s average was 172.5 on two and he earned enough to bump him into the Top 15 in the World just in time to go make his Cowboy Christmas run.
