There will be three Wright boys riding broncs at the Wrangler NFR in 2021.
Stetson Wright qualified first in the PRCA World Standings with $193,096, his brother Ryder was No. 2 with $181,894 and his uncle, Spencer, earned the last spot in this year’s field at No. 15 with $74,061.
“Everybody in the family kind of helped me step up in the bronc riding, everybody knows I hated it over the years, but they’ve really turned things around for me,” Stetson said. “It’s a little bit different, I like this a lot more (coming in at No. 1 rather than being on the bubble).
While Stetson didn’t have to navigate the bubble this year, Spencer, who won the World Championship in 2014 did.
“Seems like every time I go to the NFR it’s on the bubble,” he said with a laugh. “I guess it’s a little more rewarding, mayve that’s why I’m trying to do it every year.....There’s enough money out there that everybody has a chance really, it’s been done with less money added there.”
In addition to their 2021 seasons, the trio also discussed the PRCA Saddle Bronc of the Year race, NFR returning to Vegas, what the Eliminator Pen is like and more.
