In a dazzling display, Stetson Wright won his first bull riding Gold Buckle to go along with his second all-around Gold Buckle in 2020.

Wright finished the job with an 89-point ride on Bar T’s Rodeo Angel’s Landing. Wright was second in the average, finishing with a whopping 539 points on 6 head, almost 90 points per bull.

“The thing about this NFR is I loved every second of it,” Wright said. “With (brothers) Ryder and Rusty cheering me on, my family, it was just the time of my life and to top it off with a Gold Buckle to make it that much better.”

WRIGHT’S ROUND 10 RIDE

Wright won four bull riding Go-Rounds won more than $207,000 at the NFR. He finished the 2020 season with $267,940 in the bull riding.

Ty Wallace and Colten Fritzlan both did everything they could to win the Gold Buckle. Wallace also rode for 89 points in Round 10 and finished second in the world with $256,599. Wallace was also third in the average.

Fritzlan, who is a rookie, won the NFR average with 605 points on 7 head. Fritzlan finished the year with $241,446, more than $183,000 coming at the NFR.

“It was crazy. Ty Wallace, Colten Fritzlan and Ky Hamilton all rode phenomenally,” Wright said. “Every guy did this week, but it came down to us four in the last round and it was crazy to come out on top. This is what I live for, the stories when it comes down to the last ride.”

The 21-year-old Wright already has three Gold Buckles in his career.

“That’s what I always wanted growing up, to be one of the best cowboys to ever live,” Wright said. “That means a lot to hear people talk that highly about me makes me feel lucky and happy to be where I’m at.”
