Cole Reiner, fresh off his 23rd birthday earlier this week, won his second Go-Round at the 2020 Wrangler NFR, this time with an 89.5-point ride on Arbitrator Joe.
His traveling partner Leighton Berry had that horse in Round Four and rode him for 88.5 points, so Reiner knew what to expect, knew it would be a fun ride and it didn’t disappoint.
“It was a blast, I got off, I knew it was gonna be a lot (of points),” Reiner said. “There hasn’t been a bad night yet.”
REINER’S RIDE
Behind Reiner, Kaycee Feild made the Gold Buckle race with Tim O’Connell even tighter. Feild took second in Round Nine with 87.5 points on the back of True Grit to pull into a tie with O’Connell for second in the average. Both cowboys are 758.5 points on 9 head, five points behind the average leader Jess Pope.
With O’Connell not cashing a check Friday, Feild is now well within striking distance of O’Connell, about $16,000 back.
